By now you probably have noticed that the rectory windows have been replaced, along with the kitchen doors, and the door upstairs on the balcony and the awning over the balcony. This was made possible by the rebates we have received from the WE BELONG TO CHRIST campaign. The cost of the project was $60,327.00. There is a display in the back of church for you to stop and look at what your $$$$’s can do to beautify the parish. MANY THANKS to all you have pledged and are honoring their pledges. If you did not partake in this campaign, you may still do so. Just stop in the parish office during regular office hours, and pick up a pledge card and brochure.

St. Stephen’s Annual Duck Race & Potluck

The 3rd Annual Great Duck Race returns!!! On August 3rd our parish will hold the Great Duck Race and Potluck at Iverson Park. This year the event will be held in a narrower water stream and that in conjunction with a better speaker will certainly help you to cheer your duck to the finish line! The Potluck will start at 12:30 PM with the race to start soon after. Last year we had some scrumptious food! So bring your lawn chairs and a dish to pass. (Sorry, no electricity for crock pots). We will still be setting up near the water, just South of the Highway 10 bridge...look for the “duck prints “ leading you to the site of the race. Juice, plates and plastic ware will be provided. Ducks go on sale this weekend and are $5 each or 3/$10. Prizes will be awarded for qualifying ducks as well as some random prize drawings. Please list your dish to pass on the sign up sheets when you purchase your ducks. We can use help, so if you are interested, there will be sign up sheets for that as well. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!

Project Fresh Start

St. Stephen parish will once again beparticipating in the collection of school supplies for children who otherwise may go without. If you are out shopping for supplies, why not pick up a few extra things and place them in the box provided in the narthex. There are lists of supplies needed at all entrances. We will be collecting school supplies through August 24. Through your generosity we can make a lot of children ready for another school year.

Youth Corner:

We are looking for adults interested in serving on a regular basis as mentors and role models of faith for the junior and senior high school teens of our parish. If you are searching for a welcoming, worthwhile, enjoyable and rewarding program to share in, please consider joining our volunteer team. The time commitment is flexible and although experience working with teens is helpful, it is not required. We are a relational ministry dependent upon volunteer leadership, so we greatly appreciate your consideration to becoming a part of our team!
