BAPTISM


Baptisms are celebrated at regular weekend liturgies. Please call Rick at 344-6433 to set up the date for Baptism.

Baptism Preparation Classes are required of all parents for the baptism of their first child. These classes are held three to four times per year during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Contact the Religious Education Office to register.

RECONCILIATION or PENANCE

Private confessions are held on the first and third Saturdays of the month begining at 9:00 a.m.

First Reconciliation is celebrated in the second grade. Students are expected to attend either the Catholic School or the Parish Religious Education classes. Parents are asked to attend one inservice to help them work with their child at home. A retreat for the child is also scheduled the weekend before reconciliation. St. Stephen and St. Bartholomew Parishes will work together for this sacrament.

EUCHARIST or COMMUNION

First Communion is also celebrated in the second grade. Students are expected to attend either the Catholic School or the Parish Religious Education classes. A retreat for the child and parents is scheduled a few weeks before First Communion. St. Stephen and St. Bartholomew parishes will come together for the retreat.

First Communion Retreat -- April 19, 2008 -- Sat. 9:00 a.m. at St Stephen School cafeteria for parents and child.

Rehearsal for First Communion -- April 30, 2008 -- Wed. 6:30 p.m. at St. Stephen Church for parents and child.

First Communion Celebration -- May 4, 2008 -- Sun. 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Church for parents and child.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is open to all students who have completed their sophomore year in high school and have had a minimum of two years of high school religious education. During the summer between their sophomore and junior year, they will be interviewed by the Confirmation leader. If they choose to begin the program they will attend sessions during their junior year on Sundays. Confirmation is usually held during the spring months, depending upon the Bishop's schedule.

Adults who wish to be confirmed go through the RCIA process. See below.

MARRIAGE

Adults wishing to be married are to contact the parish and pastor at least 6 months before the wedding. The couple will meet with Father for at least two sessions and then meet with a FOCUS COUPLE for several more sessions. All marriages are set up through the pastor.

R.C.I.A. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS

The R.C.I.A. process is open to all who wish to be received into full communion in the Catholic Church. The Inquiry period usually begins in the fall of the year. Reception of the sacraments takes place during the Easter Vigil celebration in Spring. This process is also available for those adults who wish to be confirmed. SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING

The Sacrament of Anointing is celebrated communally in the fall of each year. For emergency situations, please call the rectory at 344-3319.
